[A Course Meal for Four] Part 1
Figaro: Right, I think we’ve finished our preparations for tonight’s slumber party. What shall we do…
Mitile: Ah! Uhm, that was…!
Lennox: …It’s already noon. Why don’t we have lunch around here before heading home?
Figaro: Agreed. You okay with that, Mitile?
Mitile: Y-Yes!
Rutile: Then how about that restaurant?
Mitile: Ah, I was thinking that one too! The brick walls make it stand out.
Figaro: Oh, good eyes you two. Let’s go there then.
Rutile & Mitile: Yaaay!
Mitile: Wow, the carpet’s so fluffy…and the furniture is kind of sparkling…
Figaro: Oh?
Lennox: I see, it's more high-end than it looks from the outside.
Mitile: Uh, high-end is…?
Server: Welcome to our establishment.
Mitile: (Woah, that bow was perfect. It reminds me of Mister Shylock…)
Server: Do you have a reservation with us today?
Figaro: No, we don’t. Do you have space for a group of four?
Server: Please wait for a moment while I check.
Mitile: (You need a reservation just to eat…this is what a city restaurant is like…)
(And, all those customers in the back are dressed like nobles…is it alright for us to be here?)
Rutile: …Mitile.
Mitile: Rutile?
Rutile: Can we hold hands? Your brother is a bit nervous because he didn’t think it’d be such a fancy restaurant.
Mitile: Ah…of, of course!
(He’s being considerate ‘cuz he saw how nervous I looked…)
Rutile: Hmhm, thank you. Then let’s hold hands until we get to our seats.
Mitile: Okay!
Server: …Please, excuse me.
Rutile: …Phew. The tablecloth is so clean and white it makes my back straighten.
And the menu only had course meals on it. That’s quite the gap from the restaurants in South.
Mitile: I was also surprised. Uugh, what if I eat the wrong way…
Lennox: There’s no wrong or right way to eat food. If you eat it happily, that’s the way.
Figaro: Yup yup, we’ll only get kicked out of here if you dance on the table or something worse.
And there’s only the four of us at this table here. You don’t need to worry about anyone else.
If there’s anything you don’t know, just ask and we’ll teach you. Right, Mr. Rutile?
Rutile: Yes! You can rely on me!
Mitile: Brother, Mr. Leno, Dr. Figaro…thank you.
You’re right. This is a rare chance after all, so I’ll just think of this as an extra lesson for class!
Figaro: Mmhmm, that’s the spirit.
[A Course Meal for Four] Part 2
Server: Thank you for waiting. Here is our lunch course for today. Please enjoy the appetizers first.
Mitile: Uhhhm, the cutlery…you’re supposed to start from the outside, right?
Rutile: Correct! Wow wow, you’ve got a good memory, Mitile!
Mitile: Heehee, you taught me this once before at home, Rutile.
Figaro: Oh, they’ve brought out the bread. Looks like it’s freshly baked.
Mitile: Wooow, it smells yummy…! Can we eat it right away?
Ah, but I should leave some to get the last bits of the meat sauce…right?
Lennox: You can do that, but it’s also nice to eat it while it’s hot and with butter. Like this.
Mitile: I see…!
Figaro: …
Lennox: …What? You’re staring.
Figaro: Nothing, it’s just sorta fresh to see you eating so elegantly.
Lennox: Is it? Well, I guess I do nibble on bread without tearing it more often.
Mitile: Uhm, tear a bite sized piece of the bread, and put butter…
Ah, my butterknife…! I’m sorry, I’ll pick it up!
Server: I will replace it for you Sir, so please leave it. Are you hurt at all?
Mitile: Ah, nope…thank you very much…
Rutile: Mitile? What’s up? Your face is red.
Mitile: No, nothing! My heart’s pounding because for a moment I felt like a prince being waited on by his butler…!
Figaro: Ahaha, yeah. The workers here are very refined in their conduct.
Prince Mitile, how does the bread taste? Is it to your liking?
Mitile: Ugh, Dr. Figaro! Don’t tease me!
Figaro: Sorry, sorry.
Lennox: Nice timing, the soup’s here.
Rutile: Ah, it’s your favourite corn soup Mitile.
Mitile: Wow, it is! Yaaay!
Figaro: Mm, so silky. You can tell they put a lot of hard work into its taste, the milk flavour is still strong.
Mitile: Mmm, delicious! I can’t stop scooping, I might finish it soon!
…Huh, there’s so little soup left, it’s hard to scoop…
Figaro: When it comes to that, you can tilt it a little from the back.
Mitile: Uh, but, is it really okay to tilt plates in a fancy place like this?
Lennox: Making no loud noises is another part of etiquette. You should be fine.
Figaro: And to the chef, cleaning your plate would make them happier.
Mitile: True…
…I thought etiquette was just a strict set of rules…
But it’s also a way to show consideration to the people you’re eating with, and the ones who made the food.
I was nervous at first, but making a new discovery like this…is exciting.
Figaro: This is turning out to be a nice meal.
Lennox: Yeah. Coming here was worth it.
Rutile: Hmhm, I wonder what they’ll bring us next. I’m excited, right Mitile?
Mitile: Yes!
[A Course Meal for Four] Part 3
Mitile: Phew…the food at that restaurant we went for lunch was so delicious, it was like a dream.
Lennox: Agreed, the dessert at the end was tasty. Kirsch dipped fruits made for a great accent to the chocolate cake.
Mitile: Wow, your impressions sound so grown-up, how cool…!
Rutile: I thought the organic meat dish was yummy! Its name was, uhm…po, poele? Something like that. A name as long as our spells!
Mitile: Right! Also…pfft, “Organic” and “Ortonik” sound kind of alike.
Rutile: Ahaha, that’s so true!
Figaro: It probably made you anxious to go to a fancy restaurant all of a sudden, Mitile, but it turned out to be a good experience for you.
Why don’t we go there again if we have the chance? Once we’ve steeled ourselves.
Mitile: Yes! Then we should pick out an outfit from the clothes Chloe made for us and wear it there!
Rutile: Yeah! The next time we go should be an extra special day then.
Lennox: A special day…how about Mitile’s birthday?
Mitile: Eh, mine?
Lennox: Yeah. You seemed to enjoy the corn soup there. Don’t you want to try it again?
Mitile: I do! I loved the taste so much I thought my cheeks were going to fall off!
Being able to taste that again on my birthday sounds great…
Ah, but…
Figaro: Mn? What’s wrong?
Mitile: Well…while it’d make me super happy to celebrate my birthday there…
I also love our usual celebrations where we decorate the room and spend time together like this too…
Rutile: Mitile…
Then let’s throw two birthday parties!
Mitile: Wait, two? That’s very kind, but is it okay to be so indulgent…?
Rutile: Of course! If anything…
Mitile: Wah…!
Rutile: It’d delight your big brother to be able to celebrate his beloved little brother’s birthday so many times. I’ll celebrate from morning til night!
Mitile: Brother…
Heehee, thanks.
Figaro: …So the plan is, next birthday we have lunch at the restaurant, and at night have a merry party together. Sound good?
Lennox: Yes, it’s a lovely idea.
Rutile: For the party at night I’ll make the most scrumptious snacks!
Lennox: I’ll help you out then. I can make Mitile’s favourite smoked cheese.
Figaro: Haha, everyone’s full of pep. Alright, then I’ll give Mitile a special lesson.
Mitile: A special lesson?
Figaro: Yep. An indepth on table manners. How about it, my prince?
Mitile: Gosh, Doctor, again with the teasing…but yes, please!
Hehe. Thanks so much everyone.
I can’t wait to go to the restaurant and have a party with you again!

[A Lecture on Etiquette]
Akira: Oh, Mitile. What’s up with all the cutlery?
I thought you finished lunch already.
Mitile: Ah, Master Sage! There’s actually going to be a joint lesson on table manners between the five countries soon!
Akira: Between the five countries?
Mitile: Yes! Dr. Figaro told me that “table manners differ depending on the country, so you should ask around”.
So that’s why Chloe, Heathcliff, my brother, Prince Arthur…
And Lords Snow and White, are gathering together!
Akira: Wow, sounds interesting! It’ll be a joint lesson from the manor that houses so many wizards from different lands. I think it’s a great idea!
Mitile: Hehehe, thank you! We’re living together under one roof, after all…
Learning about each other’s cultures will be another step towards understanding each other too.
Akira: That positive attitude is just like you, Mitile.
Uhm, if it’s alright, could I sit in?
Mitile: Of course! Then could you teach us about etiquette from your world too, Master Sage?
Akira: I’d love to!
Mitile: Yaaay! Hehe, I might just become a professor of etiquette across the world!
